Sharmil Maheshbhai Bhatt

BTEC Level 7 External Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership

  • Awarded December 2010

I arrived at Blake Hall College in October 2009. My initial impression was very positive. I saw that the college was set in an attractive campus near Canary Wharf and London Bridge in central London and I was very happy. I did a pre-sessional English course before my main course of study. My English lecturer's name was Elizabeth. She is a really great English teacher; I had never had a teacher like her in my life. I was aware that I needed to improve my level of English to gain the maximum benefit from my Postgraduate course. I am pleased to say that my level of English improved substantially at Blake Hall College and I now feel confident communicating in English. At Blake Hall College I had supportive lecturers and also made some lifelong friends, both from my own country and from a variety of different countries around the world. London and Blake Hall College is truly a multicultural experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in London and learned so much, academically and personally.

I feel as though Blake Hall College has become my second family. Brink, the Director, is the head of this family. He really cares about the college and all of the students. Renee, the College Administrator, is like the students' elder sister, Sumesh and Hein, Postgraduate Business Lecturers, are always ready to advise students on academic issues. Ose in the Finance department always sorts out problems very quickly. Finally Liz is a best friend for the students. Liz also founded the Students' Union, who work hard for students and provide them with lots of activities and events.

I left London after successfully completing my studies. Now I have a good career in India too, thanks to my UK qualification, but I also really miss my second family at Blake Hall College and my life in London. I would like to thank all of the staff who made my journey possible, particularly Liz who changed my life.

Best Regards,

Sharmil
